Recently I purchased some of those baskets you find everywhere- Wal-mart, Walgreen's - with the cheapie fabric liners that have ties in the middle. I put one under my desk to corral my notebooks:
...several in my laundry area to neaten up supplies...
...and a couple on my kitchen counters to help with various supplies and medicine jars, lotion, etc. But, let's face it, the fabric is uninspired and the quality of the fabric liner is...not. So, using the rest of the fabric from IKEA that was a tablecloth to match my apron and a mixer cover, I made new liners for the ones in the kitchen, sans the silly bow ties.
I just cut the old liner to make a "pattern".

Instantly prettier! Which got me to thinking: maybe I should cover the one under the desk, which holds those darn notebooks and the messy cords....
Done!
I found some really pretty fabrics on sale - here's what the ones in the laundry room are wearing:
Its a lot prettier in person with the blues and greens.
I went "shopping" in my own house and found these
The painted wooden heart bowl I found at Goodwill outlet store - probably around $2.
Sometimes it's good to work on a small project that helps
