The title of the post could also be "Oh, my aching fingers" or "How not to wait til the season is almost over to get patches sewn on your kids letter jacket" or "Why does everything have to be so difficult", but I choose to think positive here...
The Girl ordered the rest of the patches for her letter jacket in December. She's had this jacket since her sophomore year and wanted it updated before she graduates! She earned Academic All-District (2 years) and Captain and I wanted to get them on the jacket asap. And for some reason, the Neff company did not send all the patches we ordered, so that delayed this project, too. In the meantime, I called around to see how much to sew them on - $15 A PATCH. Outrageous! tried to do it myself on my own machine - not happening. Broke a few needles and almost lost my mind. This morning I resolved to get 'er done - today. After 2 hours , two bloody fingers, a pair of pliers, and two broken needles - SUCCESS! Basically I just basted them on, but they are fairly secure. I was careful to leave a space, just in case she has another to add. And Neff will let me send the whole thing back to sew them professionally when warmer weather hits. Unless it's $15 a patch, I will do that for her. I'm real proud of my girlie for doing so well in school...
