Instead of passing out candy this year to the dwindling numbers of small fry in our neighborhood, we took Scout out to eat for his birthday. He chose a pizza place with patio seating. We started it off right with a pitcher of Shiner Bock (for the over-21 among us) and some artichoke heart dip with hot french bread. Then Scout got to the goods:
He doesn't look hyper excited here but don't let that fool you...
And as per usual, no one cooperated with the stand-in photographer...
I photobombed!
We might look a somber group, but really, we had a nice time. The weather was perfect and the boys seemed to enjoy being together...and the pizza was very delish!
******

Dessert this week is S'mores!
I made a boxed caramel apple cake with caramel apple frosting, but added toasted pecans to the filling and arranged some halves on top. We enjoyed Butter Pecan ice cream with it - everyone was too full to ask why I didn't buy more Halloween candy...
And I still can't believe my sweet boy is 18.
Happy Birthday, Scout!
You're the best Halloween treat we ever got!
