5 thing Friday - McMoms, puzzles, books, rug, Ebay

Well, its been a super duper boring week.  I live a very dull life.
I bought groceries yesterday and made some McMom sammies for my work breakfasts using the last of some sliced turkey meat (pictured), and some breakfast sausage patties with cheese.  No egg for me - cue sad trombone.  I stick one of these in the oven and it slowly warms while I get dressed for work.  Re-wrapped it stays warm for quite awhile.
Since I alternate breakfasts, these will last a month or so. Not bad for about 10 minutes of prep.  I like packing PBJ Wafflewiches and oatmeal with nuts and dried fruit, too.  Six a.m. is too early for breakfast, so I usually eat at my desk around 8.
I had to throw in the towel on the 1000 piece puzzle.  It sat on this table for MONTHS.  I finally scooped it all up into it's box and started a more reasonable 500 piece puzzle.  I do so much better at word games, but apparently puzzles are good for your brain.  You can find used ones at thrift stores, garage sales, even the library.
I'm also trying to increase my reading time.  Yesterday I also picked up three new books from Half Price.  Pictured is my "to be read" shelf.  In addition to the magazines, I should be set for summer.  Come visit me here.
I ordered a pretty rug for the back door area since the Chindi rug that was laying there was kind of sliding around and looking sad.  This one feels nice on the tootsies and the bright colors make me smile.  Cheap thrills as I used some Kohl's cash and a sale.
I did one last round of purging in my cluttered jewelry box and relisted some things on Ebay that didn't sell the first go round.  I've got an area set up with all of my supplies next to the printer and have sold four items so far.  (I'm using that cutting board as a backdrop - ha!)  I think the money for these will go towards a project in the house.  The front rooms, my room, and the sewing room all need a fresh coat of paint.
Happy weekend!

I am right there with you on not being able to eat breakfast early! I love your meal prep ideas for bringing breakfast with you. I find I do much better with 500 piece puzzles over the 1000 piece ones too. I just don't have the attention span and determination to get through the really tough ones.

1000 piece puzzles feel so overwhelming to me anymoer. I get frustrated. I love a good 500 or 750 piece myself anymore.
That rug is SO CUTEEEEEE

I keep breakfast burritos in my freezer to take to work. 500 piece puzzles are my limit and I do crosswords at night before bed. I have a book to read that has been sitting for over a month.... Hmm, some day! Ha! Have a great weekend Gina.

I can’t imagine doing 1000 piece puzzle. I have 500 piece puzzle that I was very interested in doing at the time I got it. That was about five or six years ago. It is still in the box. But, at least it’s safe there, and I know where all the pieces are. I think you had a very successful week, not boring at all. Look at all you accomplished. You prepped food, you got things up on eBay, you have a cute rug. I say well done.

We've quit doing 1000 piece puzzles too. 500 suit us better.
That's a nice row of books waiting to be read. I'm not having much luck finding books that hold my interest lately. I need to browse the books at the thrift store and maybe I'd find some there.
I like your colourful rug💗 Have a pleasant weekend.

I have a puzzle from Christmas...it's still in the box, so your try and scoop back into the box still has you ahead of me!! I asked for it after I read about your puzzle habits. Now I need to open it up!! Haha! And wow...I LOVE that rug! Might have to peek at Kohls...

It sounds quite nice and not at all dull, especially that puzzle. Once upon a time I had one going at all times to walk by and sit and work on it a bit.

I still do 1000 piece puzzles, but only the older Wysocki ones. They have so many people, horses, different colored houses that 1000 pieces aren't too overwhelming to me. But when you get to the sky....sigh. You've got a lot of wins on this post!! Yay!
