Bathroom of Doom

We have this awesome jacuzzi tub that we hardly ever use.  Oh, sure we take baths in it now and again, but it doesn't get full and turned on often.   For one, it takes too much water. Two, it's loud.
Even so we have to clean it now and again with a whole tub of water spiked with bleach.  The bleach water goes swooshing thru the jets dislodging all sorts of ..
Good grief - is that pond scum?!
SHRIEK!
I pride myself on being a good housekeeper, but everyone has their Achilles Heel, and for me it's this tub.  Only the kid's bathroom sink gets grosser.  Maybe we should use it as it was intended more often.  It's actually kind of nice to sit and relax sore muscles in...
Better!
But now that's it's pretty, I don't want to mess it up......
The whole bathroom needs an upgrade and I am procrastinating.
Don't know what to do yet about the wallpaper which is faded and peeling.
The mirror, which is HUGE, The light fixtures that are rusted.  The cellular shades that are dirty...
At least the tub is clean.  (:

  3. I would so use that tub. We have a hot tub on our deck and it is a horror to keep clean. I do like it in the winter! I am not a fan of wallpaper especially if I must remove or hang it. I love to paint! ~olive

  4. Gina, I had a whirlpool tub in my last house & didn't care for the noise either, so I never used it. When I built the house I am in now I had the builder put in a garden tub, but without the whirlpool! It is much easier to clean without the jets! We did a mini remodel on our master bath this past year and only spent $700, which included the tile floor in the bathroom and the walk in closet. You can see it at http://diydesignfanatic.blogspot.com/2010/03/master-bath-reveal.html

  5. I love my tub. I think it's called a garden tub rather than a jucuzzi since mine doesn't have jets. But I use mine all the time. I have to crawl into it to clean it though so that's a pain.

  7. Stopping by from debbiedoos party! We have the same tub and I understand your dilemma. I use it all the time but only the jets a couple times a month but it is enough that I only have to do the bleach thing twice a year. Ours is old and noisy but I love it!
