Watermelon Lemonade

Summer can't get here fast enough - the boys are out as of  TODAY and I am going to welcome them home with a BIG hug!  I might be the only working mama I know that loves summer with her kids.  Maybe that's because I know where they are and what they are doing! (:  Here's a treat we will enjoy often, as the summer promises to be loooong and hot!

Watermelon Lemonade
 (adapted from Good Housekeeping)

10 cups seedless watermelon chunks
1 c. fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup white sugar

Do this in half batches unless your blender is ginormous...puree the sugar, lemon juice, and watermelon chunks til smooth.  Strain using a fine mesh sieve over a pretty pitcher (if you want it less pulp-y).
Note to mamas:  you could add a little some-some to your glass when hubby gets home...just a suggestion...

I so love summer!

Oh, that looks so delicious and refreshing! I'm usually not a big fan of watermelon, but I'm enjoying it this year!

I have a huge watermelon that is probably going to go bad in the next few days unless we start using it up. This is a great idea! It sounds refreshing and definitely would be fun with an extra addition to Mommy and Daddy's cups.

Thanks for sharing.

This looks like a tasty treat my whole family would love. Too bad my blender died on me recently. :( Will bookmark this and try it out when I get another one.
