This is the corner of my desk that has a lamp:
I bought the frame at Tar-Jay for $2.50. The glass pear belonged to my mom and has sentimental value - I use it a lot as a paperweight. The lamp is an odd bronze-gold color and the frame is kind of yellow.
Both need spiffin'.
I really like the looks of the frame with it's open flowers. Kind of like lace. But really, they both needed a coat of paint. I chose spray paint in Ivory satin to perk them both up!
I also tied a cinnamon colored ribbon around the shade - I think eventually I will just get a new lamp,
but for now, this will do!
My sister and I - probably 18 and 19 at the time...a favorite photo which will brighten my desk!

You are sooo creative when it comes to the home and meals! I agree cute pic of you and your sister. (Sisters are the best.)
Such a sweet simple redo! I love how a little paint can entirely change the look of an area. And it was such a good idea to put the ribbon on the shade -- I love it.
perfect!
Happy 4th to you and yours
